This internship offers exposure to the practical application of governance, risk, and compliance principles within a public sector environment. Successful candidates will gain valuable experience in supporting ethical service delivery, maintaining compliance standards, and promoting transparent and accountable municipal administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and analytical support to the Business Management Support Directorate in the areas of governance, risk management, compliance monitoring, and performance reporting
• Assist in promoting and strengthening municipal governance processes and ensuring compliance with Batho Pele Principles
• Support the collation, verification, and analysis of performance evidence and assist in the preparation of audit and compliance documentation
• Contribute to the coordination of governance, risk, and compliance activities
• Provide general office, meeting, and administrative support, including minute-taking, record-keeping, and document control
• Participate in communication and awareness programmes relating to governance, ethics, and compliance
• Assist with the development and maintenance of risk registers, performance reports, and related governance frameworks

Qualifications

• A Diploma or Degree in Public Management, Business Administration, or a related field with a focus on Risk Management and/or Compliance
